Skim Swipe’s POS Role and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 7/9/24

  • Wireless and cybersecurity developer Berkeley Varitronics Systems Inc. launched Skim Swipe, a tool that can help detect card skimmers hidden in point-of-sale terminals.
  • Galileo Financial Technologies, a payments-technology platform, announced it is offering wire-transfer capability via an application programming interface that links clients of Community Federal Savings Bank to the Federal Reserve’s Fedwire.
  • Foxit Software, which provides technology for e-signatures and PDFs, launched eSign Essentials and eSign Business Plan, both of which enable FoxitPay, which enables digital payments at document signing.
  • Outdoors specialist PayIt LLC said the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will use its platform for its digital volunteer and events management needs.
  • Diamond Credit Union has adopted Tyfone Inc.’s nFinia Digital Banking platform as well as its Skip-a-Pay and Quick Pay technologies for loan payments.
  • The Accredited Standards Committee X9 Inc. said it wants to create a new standard for virtual, single-use purchase card accounts.
  • Shift4 Payments Inc. announced a partnership with Ingenico’s Phos software point-of-sale technology that enables Phos customers to use Shift4’s acquiring and payment processing services.
  • Fintech Skipify named Sam Shrauger, most recently global head of payments and chairman and chief executive of Airbnb Payments Inc., as chief operating officer. It also named Lucy Morse vice president of enterprise sales. Morse comes from PayPal Holdings Inc. and previously worked at Microsoft Corp.
