- SpotOn, a payments-technology provider serving restaurants and retailers, raised $300 million in a Series F funding round led by Dragoneer Investment Group LLC. The round, which comes just eight months after a Series E funding, values the company at $3.6 billion.
- Sphere, a healthcare payments and security software company, launched a payment service for independent software vendors that uses PAX Technology POS terminals.
- Restaurant payments and software provider Lavu and POS terminal maker Verifone Inc. announced a cross-distribution partnership that integrates Lavu’s software suite with Verifone’s Flex payment service. The first available product is a Verifone Engage e285 device with Lavu’s tablet-based POS applications.
- Nuvei Corp. said it is working with Betsson Group to enable instant deposits and withdrawals in its proprietary sports book in Colorado known as Betsafe.
- Marqeta Inc., which offers a platform for digital card issuance, said it has added Evolve Bank & Trust as a partner. Evolve is known for working with a wide variety of fintech services, including open banking.
- Payments provider Stripe Inc. has joined the Snowflake data cloud and retail data cloud to allow customers of both Stripe and Snowflake to access their Stripe payment data directly in Snowflake.
- HealthNow, a buy now, pay later platform for health-care payments, said it has acquired CoverUS, a U.S.-based digital prescription discount platform. Terms were not announced. The combined company plans to launch its CoverUS payments app in the third quarter, along with a marketplace of health-care providers and merchants.
- Audi Finance and Volkswagen Finance, the finance arms of the related auto companies, have partnered with the technology provider Lexop to allow borrowers to use any device to link to a self-serve portal to create a repayment plan.
- PrivateAuto, a peer-to-peer app allowing car buyers to verify a driver’s license, electronically sign a bill of sale, and immediately transfer funds, is now said to be live in all states.
- Point-of-sale technology provider CardFlight Inc. named several individuals to leadership positions.
