  • FreedomPay announced Nando’s, an international fast-casual restaurant chain, will use FreedomPay’s point-to-point encryption payments platform in its Oracle Micros Simphony POS system installations.
  • Payments provider SpotOn Transact LLC agreed to offer acceptance of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to merchants via a partnership with Vaultbank, a blockchain-technology firm.
  • Kevin Jones, founder and former chief executive of Anovia Payments, will be CEO of Celero Commerce, a newly founded payments provider backed by LLR Partners, a middle-market private-equity firm.
  • Mastercard Inc. appointed Gabrielle Sulzberger to its board of directors. Sulzberger is general partner and investment manager of Rustic Canyon/Fontis Partners LP, a private-equity fund.
  • Rentler, a rental-housing listing service that also enables tenants to pay their rents, said it eliminated transaction fees when both the landlord and tenant use an automated clearing house payment.
  • Career site Ladders Inc. agreed to offer Dashlane Inc.’s password-management technology and digital wallet free for a year to premium Ladders members.
  • The European Central Bank launched a new system for letting banks settle payments instantly across Europe, helping them to compete with PayPal and other tech giants, Reuters reported. The service is dubbed Target Instant Payment Settlement (TIPS).
  • American Express Co. said it will roll out enhanced productivity and travel services and an updated rewards structure for its Business Platinum card next year; the card’s current $450 annual fee will rise to $595.
