Square Debuts POS APIs and other Digital Transactions News briefs

The Federal Reserve picked consulting firm McKinsey & Co. to support its Faster Payments Task Force efforts this year by assessing solution proposals from various payments providers.

Merchant processor Square Inc. announced its “Build With Square,” a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) that integrates point-of-sale and-online payments capabilities with APIs for such functions as inventory management, sales reporting and analytics, and employee management.

ATM network operator Cardtronics Inc. renewed its services agreement covering 94 ATMs in Wegmans Food Markets locations; the Wegmans machines also are being added to Cardtronics’ Allpoint surcharge-free network.

In an effort it said will streamline enrollment in Visa Checkout, Bank of America Corp. will allow customers to enroll their Visa cards in Visa’s digital wallet directly through the bank’s online-banking service.

CenterState Bank adopted VSoft Corp.’s OnView Business Deposit product to allow its more than 800 business customers to digitize and deposit multiple checks in a single deposit.

Processor TransFirst Holdings Inc. says it will offer payment-processing services to clients of ITelagen, an electronic health records technology provider.

Point-of-sale equipment distributor POS Portal says its P2, merchant-acquiring specific customer relationship management software, was awarded the Gold Partner status by Salesforce.

• The DRF PaymentsEd Forum, an organization for card-not-present payment professionals, appointed Julie Fergerson, senior vice president of industry solutions at Ethoca, an anti-fraud technology provider, to its merchant advisory board.
