- Saying the Covid-19 pandemic “is pushing the economy online,” e-commerce payment processor Stripe Inc. announced it has raised another $600 million through an extension of its Series G funding round. Stripe said it will use the funding “to step up product development, global expansion, and strategic initiatives.”
- Payments provider Clearent launched Clearent EDU, a free online platform with educational resources for small businesses, independent sales organizations, and independent software vendors.
- Weave, a payments service for service businesses, announced it is cutting its transaction fee by one percentage point for all clients from April 20 to May 20. The cut applies to transactions on terminals, from manual card entry, and from text to pay.
- ACI Worldwide Inc. introduced “Manage My Payment,” a facility on its Speedpay service that allows billers to configure digital payment options for consumers who are impacted by the Covid-19 crisis.
- MyPINPad said its software-based PIN-entry technology for commercial, off-the-shelf Android devices has received certification from the PCI Security Standards Council. The company had already received certification for its iOS product.
