Stripe’s Crypto Plans and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/28/25

  • Stripe Inc. will launch a stablecoin-based payments service aimed at businesses outside the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union, its chief executive, Patrick Collison, announced on social media. The news follows last week’s announcement by Circle Internet Group Inc. of a cross-border stablecoin initiative.
  • Payments fintech WEX Inc. launched WEX EV Depot, a service offering access to vehicle charging at private charging stations when using the WEX Fleet card.
  • Cross-border payments provider Thunes Financial Services Inc. raised $150 million in a Series D round funded by Apis Partners and Vitruvian Partners.
  • Nacha, the regulatory body for the automated clearing house network, said identity-verification platform ValidiFi Inc. has gone live on Nacha’s Phixius network, a platform offering account validation.
  • Repay Holdings Corp. announced Thomas Sullivan is taking over as interim chief financial officer, replacing Tim Murphy, who is joining an unnamed private-equity company. Murphy has been CFO at Repay since 2014.
