TCH Notes 9.6% ACH Volume Increase and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/7/22

  • The Clearing House Payments Co. LLC said transaction volume on EPN, its automated clearing house network, increased 9.6% in 2021. The Clearing House and the Federal Reserve, the only ACH operators in the United States, each handle approximately half the commercial ACH market, TCH said.
  • Buy now, pay later provider Sezzle Inc. said Yapstone , a travel payment platform for vacation rentals, will offer Sezzle as a payment option. Last week, Zip Co. Ltd. announced it was acquiring its BNPL competitor.
  • The peer-to-peer payments app Zelle said it is working with Nev Schulman, host and executive producer of MTV’s Catfish program, to spotlight scams and how to avoid them during National Consumer Protection Week, which kicked off Sunday.
  • Yardi Systems Inc., a payments provider specializing in rent payments, said it distributed $525 million in rent-relief payments under the Emergency Rental Assistance Program set up by the federal government to assist landlords and tenants during the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Payments provider Payoneer Inc. has selected ThetaRay, a specialist in artificial intelligence for transaction monitoring, to monitor cross-border payments on the Payoneer platform.
  • Binance Holdings Ltd., the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, said it has launched a payments-technology company called Bifinity. The news comes in the wake of a collaboration Binance has established with the global payments provider Paysafe Ltd.
  • Citcon Inc., a U.S.-based mobile-wallet provider, said it can now process payments for users in South Korea and Japan through its global gateway.
  • Mastercard Inc. and Zeta, a banking-technology and credit card processing startup, said they will work together to launch credit cards with issuers globally on Zeta’s platform. Mastercard said it has also invested in Zeta.
  • Payments provider Priority Technology Holdings Inc. has agreed to support purchasing cards and electronic payables for Premier Inc., a provider of consulting and analytics services to the health-care industry.
  • ParkMobile LLC said its parking app will process payments for airport parking at 550 spaces across three lots at St. Cloud Regional Airport in Minnesota.
