Toast Sites Balloon 29% and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/7/24

  • Hospitality point-of-sale maker Toast Inc. said it now serves 120,000 merchant locations as of the end of the second quarter, a 29% increase from the same period a year ago. Its gross payment volume jumped 26% year-over-year to $40.5 billion. Toast posted second quarter revenue of $1.24 billion, a 27% increase from $978 million a year ago. Its net income of $14 million reversed a $98 million.
  • Fintech Payoneer Global Inc. said it acquired Skuad, a Singapore-based workforce and payroll management company for $61 million and an additional $20 million upon meeting future milestones. New York City-based Payoneer also posted second quarter 2024 revenue of $239.5 million, a 15.9% increase from $206.7 million in the year-ago quarter. Its profit of $32.4 million fell 28.8% from $45.5 million a year prior.
  • Nayax Ltd. reported $78.1 million in second quarter revenue, up 39% from $56.2 million in the 2023 second quarter. It had a loss of $3 million in the quarter, improved from a $4 million loss a year ago.
  • The processor Nuvei Corp. reported a 22% increase in volume year-over-year for the June quarter, reaching $61.7 billion. Revenue rose 13% to $345.5 million.
  • Nacha, the automated clearing house rule maker, said Visa Inc. joined its Preferred Partner Program for ACH Experience, Open Banking, and Account Validation.
  • Visa data indicate the largest share of overseas spending at the Olympic Games in Paris is coming on Visa cards held by U.S. visitors, at a 29% share, with 78% of all international transactions having been contactless.
  • LivePerson a digital conversation specialist for businesses, said its Conversational Cloud platform has been integrated with Sycurio, a digital payment provider for contact centers, to enable payments within conversations that are PCI DSS compliant, among other features.
  • Jscrambler, a security technology provider, launched its PCI DSS Quick Start Program, which is designed to help merchants and payment service providers comply with recent PCI Security Standards Council data standards.
  • Identity verification provider AU10TIX launched an anti-money laundering service that allows users to access technology via a single application programming interface code.
  • Insurance payments network One Inc named Michael Ellis chief financial officer. Ellis previously was CFO at Flywire and at CashStar.
