• The United Kingdom’s Competition and Markets Authority issued a provisional finding that the August acquisition of Germany’s Wincor Nixdorf AG by U.S.-based ATM manufacturer Diebold Inc. “risks a substantial lessening of competition … in the market for the supply of customer-operated ATMs in the U.K.” The new company name is Diebold Nixdorf. The CMA found that besides Wincor Nixdorf and Diebold, NCR Corp. was Britain’s only other significant ATM supplier. The authority is taking comments until Jan. 10 on possible remedies, which could include forced asset sales or efforts to encourage the entrance of new ATM providers into the U.K. or existing small ones to expand.
• Processor GlobalOnePay’s gateway will handle the automated subscription-billing process for BillGo, a bill-payment app. BillGo says the app has experienced a 65% increase in sign-ups since its launch in October.
• Merchant processor JetPay Corp. said GolfNow, an affiliate of the Golf Channel that provides online tee times and point-of-sale software for golf courses, will integrate JetPay’s payment services as an option for its U.S. client golf courses.
• Fiat digital currency startup eCurrency completed a Series C funding round led by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar’s Omidyar Network and including private investment firms Radicle Impact and DFO. The amount invested was not disclosed.
• Payment Data Systems Inc. said it is working as a payment processor for The Mortgage Office suite of products from Applied Business Software Inc.
• Green Dot Corp. said it will seek shareholder approval to eliminate board classes and have all directors elected annually; the move is part of the prepaid card provider’s effort to respond to shareholder concerns that led to a proxy fight earlier this year.
