U.S. One of Two Markets with No Contactless Cap and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/17/23

  • Merchant Machine, a United Kingdom-based payments information and comparison site, issued a report on contactless transaction limits around the world. Only two nations, Ecuador and the United States have no limit, though banks or merchants may set their own limits, Merchant Machine said.
  • Payments-technology provider BHMI announced an entity-relationship component for its Concours Financial Software Suite, which is designed for back-office payments processing. The new ER component is aimed at improving data quality and easing customization for payments processing, among other features.
  • Blockchain-technology company Humbl said it has enabled peer-to-peer payments as well as payments to merchants across its platform. The move follows the company’s launch of the Humbl Wallet, which it says combines a search engine, social-media platform, and digital assets in one app.
  • Cake, a provider of marketing software to advertisers and publishers, has launched Cake Pay, which enables digital payments from marketers to providers.
