Vantiv Posts 14% Merchant Services Revenue Increase and other Digital Transactions News briefs

• Processor Vantiv Inc. reported its Merchant Services unit increased net revenue in the quarter ended Dec. 31 14% to $412 million from $363 million in the year-ago quarter on a 13% rise in transactions and 1% increase in net revenue per transaction. For all of 2016, Merchant Services’ net revenue jumped 16% to $1.546 billion, compared to $1.336 billion in 2015, also on an increase in transactions and net revenue per transaction.

• Merchant processor Sage Payment Solutions has integrated Mastercard Inc.’s Masterpass digital wallet in its services for more than 10,000 small and medium-size merchants. Sage Payment Solutions is a unit of Sage North America.

• Subscription-based merchant-services provider Fattmerchant said it has become the preferred provider for business clients of Florida’s Axiom Bank.

• Risk-mitigation firm Chargebacks 911 will offer chargeback solutions to merchants using processor ACI Worldwide’s ReD Shield fraud-detection service.

• 1EDISource Inc., a provider of electronic data interchange services, released IntelligentXchange, a service it says can help reduce chargebacks.

• Data-security provider ControlScan announced its Advanced Endpoint Security Service to aid businesses in securing devices that connect to their networks.

• The Star Cloud Services unit of point-of-sale equipment maker Star Micronics released the Micro Receipt service, which prints only the store name, time stamp and a Quick Response code on the receipt.

• The Wall Street Blockchain Alliance association formed the Blockchain Assets Working Group to focus on native assets that use public blockchains, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum,  and Zcash.

Payment card manufacturer CPI Card Group Inc. changed its ticker symbol on the Toronto Stock Exchange from PNT to PMTS, matching its symbol on the Nasdaq exchange.

• Fraud-control services provider Giact Systems named David Barnhardt executive vice president of product; Barnhardt most recently was payment product manager at Early Warning Services and has held numerous risk- and fraud-control positions at Bank of America and Wachovia.
