Transaction volume hit 89 million, up 43%.
• PayPal Holdings Inc.’s Venmo person-to-person payments service launched its first major promotional campaign, which includes 15- and 30-second commercials on cable networks MTV and Comedy Central and on Internet services Hulu and YouTube, Reuters reported.
• Unity FI Solutions, a payments-services company, introduced Player Pass, a ticketing service that enables sports teams to manage complimentary tickets that players and staff provide family and friends.
• First Tennessee Bank joined Cardtronics plc’s Allpoint surcharge-free ATM network, which has 43,000 ATMs in the U.S.
• Payments provider iPayment Holdings Inc. named Robert Purcell as its chief financial officer. Purcell joined the company in 2012 after having worked as vice president of finance at Intuit Financial Services.
• Tablet-based point-of-sale system provider ShopKeep named Mike Sommers as senior vice president of product management. Sommers most recently worked at Beatport, an online distributor of electronic music.
