VeriFone EMV App Updated on TSYS’ Network and other Digital Transactions News briefs

VeriFone Systems Inc. released an updated version of the EMV application for point-of-sale terminals used on processor Total System Services Inc.’s network that now includes EMV tip adjust among other functions.

ClickBid, a provider of mobile-bidding technology, says it is using hosted fields from Braintree, a unit of PayPal Holdings Inc., to offer PCI-compliant mobile bidding for silent auctions.

NCR Corp. launched a consulting service for the financial services, retail, and hospitality industries.

SafetyPay, which enables online transfers to merchants in local currency from consumers’ bank accounts, announced it has begun operations in Belgium. The company says it now operates in 21 countries in Europe and in North, Central, and South America.

Eigen Development Ltd., a provider of managed payment applications for the retail, restaurant and hospitality industries, said its MiraServ point-to-point encryption (P2PE) application has been validated as compliant with the PCI Security Standards Council’s P2PE requirements.

MoneyGram International said it is waiving all transaction fees for donations to the Red Cross in support of disaster recovery in Italy following the earthquake in that country. The fee waiver applies to all donations submitted through Sept. 30.

The Western Union Foundation is contributing $50,000 to Save the Children in response to the earthquake in Italy. For disaster relief in that country, it is also matching dollar-for-dollar contributions from Western Union Co. agents, business customers, and other business partners, and is matching contributions from employees two-to-one.
