• Several veteran credit card executives, mostly from Bank of America and Capital One, have formed a new company to issue a credit card branded “Ollo.” Rob Habgood, formerly with both BofA and Capital One, is chief executive of the newly formed issuer, Fair Square Financial Holdings. Other executives with the new company include: Scott Bourdreau, formerly of BofA; Florian Egg-Krings, formerly of JPMorgan Chase; Steve Linehan, formerly of Capital One; Rick Welsh, formerly of BofA; and former Capital One executive David Tyler. In addition, former Citigroup chief executive Vikram Pandit has joined Fair Square’s board.
• Apriva said it has obtained an additional EMV certification with processor Total System Services Inc. (TSYS) for Globalcom Engineering’s BV1000 device through the Apriva gateway. The device is used for unattended retail transactions, such as those in self-service parking and car washes.
• E-commerce site Etsy Inc. said it now accepts Android Pay within its app used on Android phones and tablets.
• The consulting firm Accenture will acquire First Annapolis Consulting, a payments consulting and advisory firm. Terms of the transaction, which is expected to close in 30 days, were not disclosed.
• Punchh, a cloud-based loyalty application for restaurants, added three pizza chains in the second half of last year, including MOD Pizza, Pizza Inn, and PizzaRev.
• ICBA Bancard, the payment-services subsidiary of the Independent Community Bankers of America, named Joe Buse as vice president, client relationship manager; Buse most recently was regional vice president of sales at Cachet Financial Solutions.
• Mastercard Inc. appointed Sandra Arkell as executive vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer, effective May 5. The move comes as current controller Andrea Forster takes on a new role to expand Mastercard’s shared service center capabilities. Arkell for the past two years has been vice president and controller at manufacturing firm Dover Corp.
