Visa Adopts Contactless Transit Incentive and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/30/21

  • Visa Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. said they will donate a dime to New York Cares through the month of September, up to a limit of $250,000, for each tap riders perform with a Chase Visa contactless card on subways or buses operated by New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
  • VPay, a payments platform for insurers, found in a survey that, while almost all insurers have installed digital payments, half of all business-to-consumer and business-to-business payments are still processed by paper.
  • Fobi AI Inc., a provider of real-time data-analytics technology, announced the availability of its Fobi App on the Shopify App store for use by Shopify merchants in analyzing customer data.
  • Mercator Advisory Group named Donald Apgar director of its Merchant Services practice. Apgar’s experience includes stints at First Data (now Fiserv), Citibank, and TranFirst (now Global Payments).
