Visa Credential Tech Coming to U.S. and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 11/12/24

  • Visa Inc. announced it is bringing its Visa Flexible Credential to the U.S. market, starting with Affirm Inc.’s Affirm Card, a debit card that supports buy now, pay later functionality. The network simultaneously is launching the technology in the United Arab Emirates. The flexible credential technology enables users to make payments from a range of funding sources supported on a single card.
  • Alchemy Pay, a payment gateway for users looking to convert fiat money to digital currency, said its platform now enables users to make cryptocurrency payments directly through Google Inc.’s Google Pay platform.
  • The Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority and technology firm RideCo have launched GoPass, a single app allowing riders to plan and pay for rides across a range of transit systems in the city.
  • Banking software provider Alacriti said it will support instant-payment access for digital-banking technology platform Access Software, enabling financial institutions to leverage the FedNow and RTP real-time networks.
  • Kubra, a provider of customer-experience technology for the utility, insurance, and government sectors, has launched point-of-sale payment capability based on processing from Ingenico, allowing clients to serve customers who pay bills in person.
  • Mastercard Inc. released Biz360, a suite of digital services for small businesses, which includes access to better customer engagement, data about their industries, simple integration, and a fully digital tool to consolidate operational functions, subscriptions, and payment gateways into a single online destination.
  • Online delivery provider Instacart said Australia-based Coles Supermarkets will use its Caper Carts in its stores. The carts, using artificial intelligence, enable shoppers to add items that the cart identifies and tallies. They can checkout directly from the cart.
  • FIS Inc. said it is working with Oracle Corp. on improved billing and payment capabilities for Oracle’s utility customers.
  • Payment services provider CSG Systems Inc. named Saurabh Joshi president of payments. Joshi will oversee CSG Forte, its payments portfolio. Joshi most recently was a senior vice president at The Western Union Co.
  • Payments provider Valor PayTech named Sundar Garg president of Asia. Prior to this appointment, Garg had been an executive at SysArc Infomatix.
