Visa Relaunches Savings Edge and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/13/24

  • Visa Inc. has re-launched Savings Edge, a rewards and discount program for U.S. and Canadian businesses that use Visa Business credit, debit, and reloadable prepaid cards. The re-launch includes revamped offers and a refreshed Web site, Visa says.
  • In related news, Visa announced “Prodigies,” a promotional film aimed at reinforcing the idea that success comes from hard work.
  • Stripe Inc. has agreed to be the chief online-payments processor for Accor, a global hospitality company encompassing more than 40 hotel brands with 5,600 sites in more than 110 countries. The agreement replaces a range of payment gateways, the companies say.
  • Rite Aid Corp. expanded its partnership with delivery provider Instacart to now offer an EBT SNAP online payment option at more than 1,400 of its drugstore locations on the Instacart digital storefront.
  • Kompliant, which provides financial compliance services, said merchant acquirer Merrick Bank will use its services to help with the merchant onboarding process.
  • Payments processor ACI Worldwide Inc. said its board has authorized a repurchase of $400 million in the company’s common stock. The company has repurchased about 3 million shares since the start of the year, for an outlay totaling $106 million.
  • Stake, a marketing company, announced it has acquired Circa, a rent-payments platform, for $9.5 million in cash and stock. The combination will create a cash-back rewards program for renters, Stake says.
  • Credit union service organization Velera said it will provide credit and debit card processing and support services to Utilities Employees Credit Union.
