Visa’s Fast Track Expands And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 12/18/23

  • Visa Inc. said it is expanding its Fintech Fast Track program, originally focused on card issuing, to include Visa Direct, the card network’s real-time payments platform. Visa has signed 42 new clients in the past year for Fintech Fast Track, which offers various Visa payment technologies to non-bank payments providers.
  • In related news, Visa has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Prosa, a payments processor based in Mexico, in a deal not expected to close until the second half of 2024. Prosa processes more than 10 billion transactions annually.
  • Buy now, pay later provider Affirm Inc. said travel agency Liberty Travel will offer Affirm’s payment option.
  • Technology provider Ryvvl has launched Ryvl Block, a blockchain-as-a-service platform, in collaboration with R3, a blockchain software provider. The new technology is aimed at easing adoption of blockchain, the technology underpinning cryptocurrency payments.
  • Improving Payments, a provider of processing technology, announced it has acquired payments provider Science of Sales. Terms were not announced.
  • Global processor Worldline announced late Friday its president, M. Bernard Bourigeaud, had died Thursday at the age of 79. Independent director M. Georges Pauget will assume the office temporarily as the company initiates a search for a permanent replacement.
