- The Western Union Co. reported third-quarter revenue of $1.259 billion, down 4% year-over-year. Peer-to-peer transactions in the quarter totaled 77.3 million, up 6%.
- MoneyGram International Inc. reported third-quarter revenue of $323.2 million, down 1% year-over-year on a constant-currency basis. Digital transactions accounted for a 27% share of all money transfers in the quarter.
- Amazon.com Inc. reported third-party sellers participating in its Prime Day event, which ran Oct. 13-14, generated more than $3.5 billion in sales, almost 60% higher than in the 2019 event. Prime Day was held three months later this year in view of the pandemic.

- MyPOS Europe Ltd. announced its Soft POS technology, which lets merchants accept card payments, including contactless transactions, on an Android smart phone with no additional hardware or wiring.
- AffiniPay LLC’s LawPay online payment platform for law firms has integrated with Casetext, research software for lawyers.
- Volterra Inc., a distributed cloud-services provider, said it achieved Level 1 certification under the PCI Security Standards Council’s Data Security Standard.
- Discover Financial Services said Shifra Kolsky will move into the senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer position. Kolsky, an 11-year Discover veteran, will replace Ed McGrogan, who retires at the end of 2020.
